Embodied Wisdom: Dread & Generativity

  • Shelterwood Collective 108 South Jackson Street, #205-206 Seattle, WA, 98104 United States (map)

Embodied Wisdom is our seasonal rhythm of communal, holistic learning. The belief that our need for human connection is enduring shapes these gatherings. Our intent is to create intention space for inspiration, connection, deepening, and activation in service of collective healing.

Over the course of the year we will gathering around four themes: trust/intuition, bias/compassion, and nuance/community.

Our April gathering will focus on Dread & Generativity

  • How do we look at/work with the tremendous amount of dread we’re holding in the collective?

  • How do we deepen our capacity to face and move through despair?

  • What is the role of joy, love, and creativity in liberation?

  • What is the intersection of dread/collapse/despair and generativity/reimagination/rebirth?

D. Michael Louderback will join Nicole Greenwald for a collaborative, profoundly-human dialogue. Following the panel the community that gathers will turn toward each other as learning partners in conversation circles. Then we’ll reconvene as a full group for questions, reflections, and collective action.

This gathering is for healers, practitioners, facilitators, educators, creatives, and community builders.

We will gather at Shelterwood Collective in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood. This will be a hybrid offering with facilitation provided for members joining from a distance.  2 continuing education units are included.

Please note that the event will begin promptly at 10 o’clock and conclude at Noon. We ask that you honor this container and those who will gather in it by preparing to be present for the duration of the event. Doors will open at 9:30 and you’re welcome to arrive early to settle in, make some tea, and connect with one another.

We are honored to feel, learn, and co-create in community with you.

D. Michael Louderback

Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor

I’m Michael (he/him). I’m an eclectic and psychoanalytic therapist and clinical supervisor. I practice the art of psychotherapy through a mixture of lenses and techniques—through psychodynamic, object relations, attachment, interpersonal, evolutionary, sensorimotor (bodily - somatic attention) and psychoanalytic theories. Ultimately, however, it's the relational, emotional dynamic between you and I that most informs treatment. I have been privileged to sit with a wide variety of different people across more than a decade of practice— older and younger; artistic and professional; straight and transgender and nonbinary; BIPOC and immigrant and emigrant— with experience and interest in ranging relational, theological, ideological, and sexual orientations in the world. I’m committed and striving always to forever learn-alongside and learn-from
whomever sits across me.
