A Four-Week Series Group for Adults

If you experience high stress and burnout, feel overwhelmed by the stacking responsibilities and demands of your career, and want to build community with others who are seeking respice in this fast-paced world, this group is for you!

In this outdoor group, you will deepen your awareness of the cycle of stress and anxiety and develop skills and strategies for flexible, adaptive responses to internal and external stressors. We will explore various evidence-based somatic (“body-based”)  techniques in nature and learn how to self- and co-regulate the nervous system for stress reduction and increased resiliency. We will also practice mindfulness techniques, emotional regulation, and self-awareness. Group time will include time to gain knowledge and practice skills in the midst of connecting and sharing your discoveries with other group members.

We will draw from themes found in the natural environment as guides for developing a greater sense of mastery in our ability to manage stress:

  • Rhythm

  • Flow

  • Vibrancy

  • Expansion

Format

The group will meet in-person at the Washington Park Arboretum outside of the visitor center. Each session will involve stress-reduction skill-building, psychoeducation, while on a guided walk in the Arboretum. This will allow for you to practice and explore new stress relief strategies, and will give you opportunities to share and reflect on your experiences.
