Embodied Wisdom: On Trust

  • Shelterwood Collective 108 South Jackson Street, #205-206 Seattle, WA, 98104 United States (map)

Embodied Wisdom is our seasonal rhythm of communal, holistic learning. The belief that our need for human connection is enduring shapes these gatherings. Our intent is to create intention space for inspiration, connection, deepening, and activation in service of collective healing.

Over the course of the year we will gathering around four themes: trust, bias, nuance, and dread/generativity.

Our October gathering will focus on Trust — how do we know what we know, how do we connect with our deep knowing, how do we establish enough safety within to allow us to commune with others, how do we steward space to support folx in creating/deepening this kind of connection to self and other?

Harumi LaDuke (intuitive coach, medium, and educator), Joy Hilliker (psychotherapist), and Julie Davidson (therapist and somatic experiencing facilitator) will open our gathering with a collaboratively- interdisciplinary-and-profoundly-human dialogue.

Following the panel the community that gathers will turn toward each other as learning partners in conversation circles. Then we’ll reconvene as a full group for questions, reflections, and collective action.

This gathering is for healers, practitioners, facilitators, educators, creatives, and community builders.

We will gather at Shelterwood Collective in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood. This will be a hybrid offering with facilitation provided for members joining from a distance.  2.5 continuing education units are included.

We are honored to feel, learn, and co-create in community with you.

Harumi LaDuke

Intuitive Coach & Educator

I’m Harumi LaDuke (she/her). I am drawn to this conversation because learning how to listen to my inner wisdom helped me change how I feel about myself from the inside out. As an intuitive coach and energetic guide, I help my clients live from their intuition so they become who they really are and move forward toward what they deeply desire. Learning how to embody my inner wisdom in everyday decisions helped me trust myself and more peacefully navigate burnout, loss, family and health crises, and now experience more delight and than I ever have before.

Julie Davidson

Psychotherapist & Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

I'm Julie Davidson, LMHC, SEP (she/her). I'm drawn to this conversation because of my personal journey with somatics and how the work helped me trust my body and intuition again and how it continually grounds me as a parent of three. My clinical work helps folks establish body competency, learn their nervous systems' rhythms, form energetic boundaries, and free up life force to bring to their life and communities. I am informed and shaped by the work of Peter Levine, Resmaa Menakem and Kimberly Ann Johnson.

Joy Holt-Hilliker

Psychotherapist

I’m Julie Holt-Hilliker (she/her). My work in the field of psychotherapy has always felt like a calling of sorts based out of the nuances my own personal story. I do not view myself as the expert and the client my pupil.  I view each individual being the expert on their own body and lived experience and my job is to draw that truth more and more out of my client with the purpose of growing their intuition, mind, and ability to trust both. Where the therapeutic process is of enormous value is most of our wounding occurred within relationship and relationship is where healing also occurs. So, at the basis of my work, is the deep trust held between therapist and client. Secondly, as a Somatically trained therapist, and as science confirms, our dis-ease appears first within our body. If we slow our pace enough and get good at listening to our body’s cues, it is known to be a much faster route to nervous system regulation, body/mind health, and illness prevention. Always, within this work is my profound interest and research done between illness and the psychological/emotional repression that precedes the onset of illness.
