As a Clinical Resident
you are responsible to:
Provide culturally-competent and social justice minded short- and long-term individual and group counseling.
Co-create a collaborative learning environment with other residents by participating in group-learning activities, including: monthly peer consultation, monthly intentional conversation series, and occasional trainings.
Participate in co-creating and stewarding a relational working environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, citizenship, gender, sexual orientation, relationship status, religion, creed, or ability.
Facilitate intake assessments, treatment planning, and referrals.
Maintain documentation in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner.
Consistently exhibit integrity, promptness, and reliability.
Uphold contract requirements and program outcomes while providing ethical services.
Follow collective policies and procedures, RCWs, WACs, and other professional standards and regulations.
Perform other appropriate and relevant duties as needed.

We are honored that you'd like to learn with us. Our Clinical Residency Program is oriented around a fall start every year, and we receive applications once a year for selecting the Residency Cohort to begin the following fall.

Fall 2025 Residency Program Application Timeline (2024 Submissions Are Now Closed)
Applications Open: December 15
Application Deadline: January 15
Notification/Invitation to Interview: January 24
Applicant Group Interview: January 30
Applicant 1:1 Interview: February 3-7
Final Notification to Candidates: February 15

Residency candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Enrollment in an accredited graduate-level program in Counseling; Counseling Psychology; Clinical Psychology; Social Work, or related field.
Openness to learning and adaptivity to change.
Willingness to receive and integrate feedback.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and an ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse teams and diverse populations.
Technologically savvy with experience in Google Apps and cloud-based client-management applications preferred.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Capacity to commit to a 10-12 month experience* working a minimum of 12-15 hours per week. Counseling residents are expected to maintain a caseload of 12 clients. Evening and/or weekend hours may be required.
*We understand that each school's academic calendar varies a bit and we can accommodate a fall start between August and October and an ending between June and September. We are unable to accommodate residents who may be graduating prior to June 2024.
