Consultation Group: Brave Spaces with Carissa Singh

Together we can create a brave space to nurture each other’s innate capacity for healing while inviting each other to deepen and grow through self-reflection.

Brave Spaces is a consultation group is for developing clinicians looking to join in community. Together, this brave work can enhance our ability to be a transformative presence for meaningful therapeutic change.

Key lenses that will be emphasized in this space:

Somatic and Holistic – An emphasis on somatic work invites the whole self into the room, empowering us to deepen our connection and trust in this inherent source of knowledge.

Depth-oriented – Depth work always asks, what more might be happening here, beneath the surface? How do we traverse the spaces we and those we serve may be afraid to go, while simultaneously deepening safety and trust?

Foundational principles that will guide this work:

Community based and Relational – Community flourishes best when vulnerability and authenticity are nurtured by a deep sense of mutual regard, humility, compassion and openness to surprise. When we connect our hearts and minds over what matters deeply to us, we are able to proliferate and sustain a network of accountability and care.

Collective Liberation – Engaging in liberatory work means acknowledging the oppressive systems and forces that hold us and our clients back from living into our power. Through developing this critical consciousness we and our clients become more able to fully realize our personal and collective agency.

Together, these cornerstones will guide our work, help us explore and find expansion in the “stuck” places and deeply enhance our ability to show up courageously and authentically.

We will meet on Saturdays at 12p for approximately 12 weeks, with the potential for the group to continue after. The first weekly meeting will be January 7th. The format is Zoom.

Carissa Singh

In addition to being a healer I identify as being an activist, an antagonist, and a queer, multiracial woman living with chronic illness. I believe these identities cannot be separated from my experience of the world, and thus my practice. I will work with you to identify how your own life is informed by your experiences of adversity stemming your developmental and current environment. I see the process of therapy as being deeply liberatory. Working to unlearn patterns that no longer serve you, you learn more about your core self and needs, and begin to courageously move forward with putting these into action.
