Process Group: Good Grief

  • Shelterwood Collective 108 South Jackson Street Seattle, WA, 98104 United States (map)

A Creative Grief & Loss Support Group for Adults

Have you experienced a loss? Are you grappling wit the waves of grief? Do you feel isolated or lost in your grief? We invite you to join this group.

This group is a healing space to share and process your grief. We will co-create communal and individual strategies for being with your grief. Drawing from the creative arts, ritual, and somatic practices, this group offers a unique alternative to healing that privileges authentic expression.

Our intention for this group is not to “overcome” grief, but rather to build our capacity to live in harmony with it.
Some of the ways we hope to do this is through…

The use of ritual for loss
Meaningful relationships and connection in shared grief
Finding playfulness amidst pain
Strategies for being with and processing emotions
Creative expression through the visual arts and physical embodiment
Attune to the wisdom of your body

Timing

We will meet in person on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00pm for six weeks beginning January 17.

RYT, Counseling Resident

Life is abundant with ups and downs, joys and sorrows, adventures and mundanes. Sometimes we feel lost, lonely, or disconnected from the world around us and it can be difficult to find the way forward. I commend your choice to seek help on your journey and I am honored to join you as you find meaning and freedom in your life.

My counseling practice is informed by multicultural, humanistic, and feminist theories. I utilize techniques from narrative therapy, drama therapy, somatic therapy, mindfulness, and the creative arts.

Psychotherapist

Whatever season of life you may find yourself in, whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or loss, life is hard sometimes and we need others to walk with us so we don’t feel quite so alone.

In our work together, we will pay attention to your life, your formative relationships, your mind and self as we look to understand what your life is trying to tell you. Together we will discover a deeper understanding of how it feels to be you and explore the parts of you that may be yet unknown.
