Writing While Tender | A Drop-In Virtual Writing Class

Are you holding on to a story or memory that's aching to be told? Do you wish to process a complex experience, but haven't had the space or tools to begin exploring it? Facilitated by Sofiya Ko, licensed counselor and expressive arts therapist, Writing While Tender is a trauma-aware container where personal experience will be gently guided into expressive writing.

Whether you want to journal privately or wish to share your writing publicly, you'll be softly challenged to listen, learn to recognize inner knowing from external voices, and start to notice creative blocks that hold you back from freely taking up space.

Sofiya Ko

(she/her) MA, LMHC, REAT

Expressive Arts & Somatic Psychotherapist

I'm Sofiya and I help women and queer people overcome difficulties through expressive arts therapy. My approach incorporates somatic and trauma-focused care, tailored to the needs and goals of each client.  I love supporting people navigating changes in their lives, and specialize in working with entrepreneurs, artists, immigrants and parents who value being in community and hold empathy for the suffering of others.

I bring a sense of warmth, light-heartedness and validation to the sometimes not-so-fun act of self-reflection and growth. Unlike traditional therapy, expressive arts therapy isn't limited to verbal exploration. Together, we engage creative forms like movement, visual arts and writing to reimagine and rediscover joy and freedom.

If you're ready to embrace positive change and seek meaningful support, let's connect and embark on this transformative journey together. Your well-being and growth are my priority.  Reach out today to start your journey towards empowerment and fulfillment.
