Counseling Resident

(she/her)

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here!

My approach to therapy is person-centered and relationship driven, rooted in a belief that we heal in and through relationship to one another and all are capable of connection, growth and healing. My hope is to cultivate a therapeutic relationship that is based on acceptance, trust and respect for your own inner wisdom. I believe you have everything that you need within yourself. With that in mind, we will work collaboratively to build a space for open exploration of your full self at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I honor and respect that each person brings their unique story, experiences and individual strengths to our time together. It is my privilege to witness and support the challenging and beautiful journey  you are on to find your own sense of home. I look forward to being alongside you, offering support and guidance as we navigate your unique path to healing and self-discovery.

I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on each client's needs, and work to tailor my direction to what makes sense for and to you.  I am drawn to  and informed by person centered, attachment, internal family systems, feminist and somatic theories. I am particularly attuned to working with individuals who identify as adopted or are part of the adoption triad. I am a Korean transracial and transnational adoptee and understand the complexity of navigating  lifelong adoption issues. I have an interest in supporting life and career transitions, I spent most of my career in marketing and strategy before pursuing mental health counseling. The transition from one thing to another can be hard and confusing.  I also have interest in supporting those navigating racial identity, spirituality and experiences of grief and loss.

I am currently completing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University. I am a mentor and group facilitator at the Adoptee Mentoring Society supporting adoptees of all ages across the U.S.

Outside of my therapeutic work, you can find me outside (preferably near water) making the most of the Seattle sunny days. I love cooking and baking with my current obsession being  baking and decorating cakes. I’m currently learning to play tennis, always looking for a new creative hobby and I’m on the hunt to find the best teriyaki spot in the city!
