Psychotherapist

We are wired for connection; we need it to survive, but more importantly, we need it to thrive. To experience ourselves in connection when perhaps we have disconnected, as a way to survive our hurts or traumas, is an important part of healing. Working with a therapist is one great way to do this. I see therapy as a collaborative process that relies on trust and authenticity to foster insight and growth. I believe that you are the expert in your own healing, and I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental, space to unpack difficult emotions and expand awareness of your unique personality, strengths, and patterns of relating. Change is hard, and an inevitable part of life. Sometimes it is something we choose, other times it happens to us. I offer a generative space, rooted in compassion, for your courageous step of seeking support through the discomfort of change. My ultimate goal is to remind you of your own resourcefulness and to work with you to create a life that nourishes you.

While my practice welcomes individuals from all backgrounds who are navigating a range of challenges in response to life transitions, my previous work as a birth and postpartum doula informs a particular desire to connect with and support new parents and growing families. The transition to parenthood can be an experience mixed with intense emotion, including joy, fear, sadness, grief, excitement, and confusion. Perhaps you feel alone in your thoughts as you journey into this new chapter of your life - is it supposed to feel this way? Many parents, both birth-giving and non-birth-giving, struggle with mood disorders such as anxiety and depression during pregnancy and beyond. Together we can address these concerns and lead you to a more fulfilled experience.

Therapy is never one size fits all. My approach is collaborative and integrative and is rooted in looking at the whole person; I work with each client to create a treatment plan that reflects their unique goals, needs, and values. This includes the concerns that led you to seek therapy as well as the external variables that may be impacting your well-being such as societal norms, discrimination, and access to resources in your community. I draw from a variety of modalities to support my clients including Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and attachment theory. Additionally, I incorporate neuroscience, mindfulness, and somatic-based practices to facilitate the mind-body-spirit connection so that you may lead a richer, more meaningful life. I am honored to be considered as a resource as you navigate growth and change.
