Coburn Kirby Childs, LMHCA
Psychotherapist
(he/him)
When we create, we heal. When we heal, we create. In therapy, the goal of our collaborative relationship is not to tell merely a good story, but a true story: to help you discover more of your fullest and most authentic self, and to start living it out.
Oftentimes hurt, trauma, and harm destroys our imagination for a flourishing future. Creativity is a way to get a foot in the door to healing and integration. I am committed to helping you experience restoration in your life so you may live out your most flourishing story.
I utilize art, imagination, and creativity to help build safety and trust as we explore. I am not here as an expert or a leader on what you "should" do on your journey - I am more like a traveling companion or empathetic guide, following your lead and supporting with curiosity and reflection.
I hold my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, with a Concentration in Trauma & Abuse, from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. Various somatic practices and diversity/inclusion frameworks inform my work; I work with clients of all ages/identities, particularly 2S/LGBTQIA folx.
I would love to hear a bit of your story, needs, and goals. I offer a free 15-minute consultation call to see if working together is a good fit. I hope to hear from you.
