Simona Wood LMHC
Psychotherapist
(she/her)
Hi! I’m Simona. I identify as a white cis queer woman. I believe that effective therapy is collaborative work we do together. I’m here to help you work through life’s challenges while also understanding yourself on a deeper level and as a whole person. This can mean exploring your identities and aspects of self in order to explore how they connect with whatever you’re struggling with. I aim to help you build trust in yourself in order to feel capable and empowered to live life authentically. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship concerns and LGBTQIA+.
My approach is warm and relaxed. I practice from a narrative perspective and often use somatic practices. I pull aspects and skills from other theories in order to tailor my approach to fit each client’s individual needs. I have been trained in EMDR through EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program. I am constantly reading to stay up to date in my field and gain knowledge and perspectives, meaning if you’re looking for therapeutic book recommendations, I probably have one!
I have experience working in community mental health, hospital settings, on a domestic violence helpline, and in group practices. These variety of roles add up to 10 years of experience in the mental health field and a deep knowledge of the mental health system and resources. I work with adults in Washington state.
Outside of work I enjoy time with my dogs, engaging with creative projects and tending to my plants.
