Psychotherapist

(she/her/they)

Hi there! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Sarah (she/her/they). I identify as white, cis-gender, and middle class. I’m a Licensed Couple and Family Therapy Associate. I earned both my BA in Liberal Studies and my MA in Couple and Family Therapy at Antioch University, Seattle. Let’s get into it.

You may be shocked to read that everyone is unique (!!!) and has their own belief system and values based on their own life experiences. Maybe this includes you too. I am interested in getting to know you, your values, the beliefs you carry about yourself and those you are in relationship with, your own intersections, and how you most easily process information. You are a whole world just as an individual, and what an honor it is to be invited into the space you occupy!

We both bring our own expertise to the therapeutic experience; you bring your life experiences and relationships, making you the expert in your own life, and I bring my extensive systems-based training and education (and sense of humor) to the work we do together. I heavily vibe with a strengths-based approach, Attachment Theory, and Emotionally Focused (Family) Therapy (EFT/EFFT).

My overarching goal is to build mega trust and rapport with you in order to be an unwavering support to you in your life. I strive to create a safe space to work out life’s challenges, and to help you get closer to being your most authentic self, unapologetically.

I’m often a good fit for folx who are new to therapy, or trying it for the four-hundredth time (good for you!) because they haven’t felt a genuine connection with previous therapists. I enjoy working with adults, couples, families, and teens. I take a special interest in supporting:

Couples finding (re)connection with each other
Folx continuing their eating disorder recovery journey
Families trying to get on the same page and improve communication
Young adults in life transitions
Individuals and family members navigating breast cancer and BRCA1/2
Parents interested in unconditional/gentle parenting skills

With all of that being said, we may also be a good fit if…

If you’re a recovering perfectionist or people-pleaser…
If you feel your relationships shifting, or are desiring a shift…
You’re a parent but also a fully multi-dimensional person with needs and wants outside of their children…

Or, if you identify as “just a girl!”... Let’s talk!

If any of this rings your bell, I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation to see if we’d be a good fit for one another, and what you’re looking for in therapy.

Thanks for being here!

Rendering of services requires a credit card on file. Payment is due at time of service.

I reserve a percentage of my caseload for sliding scale clients. Please inquire directly for availability.

Please note, the rates listed above are my private pay rates. If you are using your insurance, or your out-of-network benefits to pay for therapy, the amount you pay for sessions will likely be lower. A Good Faith Estimate for services is available upon scheduling or upon request.

Insurance

I am an in-network provider for Premera and Lifewise.  For all other insurances, I am considered an out-of-network provider. I am happy to provide you with a superbill for you to send to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.* Please check with your insurance provider beforehand regarding out-of-network benefits and potential reimbursement opportunities. Ask these key questions:also

  1. Does my plan cover out-of-network mental health services?

  2. Do I have a deductible to meet before they start paying?

  3. How many sessions per year does my plan cover?

  4. What percentage of the fee will they reimburse me?

*Please note that submitting superbills to insurance requires practitioners to provide a diagnosis code on behalf of the client.

I am also partnered with Thrizer, which helps individuals receiving therapy by acting as a payment method that links with your health insurance to verify how much your insurance will cover for out-of-network therapy. Click this link to learn more.

Location

I’m currently Telehealth only, but I am expecting to offer in-person sessions in the coming months in the Bellevue area. Please check my website and inquire directly if interested in in-person sessions.

Scheduling Information

I encourage you to reach out to me via my email below with any questions you may have, and to set up a free 20-minute phone consultation to see if we may be a good fit for one another.
