Let's collaborate with compassion and creativity to align you with your goals. Together, we can collectively illuminate deeper insight, shed light on behavioral patterns, attend to emotional wounds, and clarify aspects of your identity and values. We can do this through both talk-based and arts-based practices.

My passion is in finding ways for caregivers to come alive again. If you are a people-pleaser, a mother (or birthing parent), a healer, a feeler, burnt out from giving too much of yourself… I’ve been there, and I’d love to help.

I’m passionate about helping adults break negative patterns that keep them stuck - over-functioning, anxiety, depression, burnout, low self-esteem, shame and people-pleasing while building self-compassion and acquiring tools to make lasting, positive change. I offer holistic mental health counseling and therapy grounded in neuroscience and mindfulness. Central to my approach is a deep respect for wisdom we hold in our bodies to help us heal. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and practice cultural, sexual, and gender-affirming care.

I spent a lot of time on this page making it perfect, then realized it was super boring, which isn’t the case for therapy with me at all. So, take a look inside if you’re interested in healing. I’ve got you.

Is change possible? What does healing look like? Can things really get better?
Matthew McDermott, LMHC
Psychotherapist
I believe that every person has the right to be treated with individual care. Because we are all unique, what works for one person may not work for the next. I like to approach helping you with a fresh lens every time, getting to know you, and finding which therapeutic approach to best help your situation.
